ITINERARY AND ACCESS TO THE BUILDING
Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar is accessed via Rua do Vale, where sidewalks are narrow and there are no ramps to access the building directly from the street due to traffic and pedestrian safety regulations. After the gate there is a low-gradient ramp leading to an outdoor patio featuring a long bench and a bicycle lock. The building’s 200cm wide doors are automatic. All circulation areas in the building are at least 100cm wide.
The upper floor mezzanine can be accessed via two stairs (with twenty-two steps and a handrail on one side), or by lift with automatic, 80cm wide doors, and a 110cm by 140cm cabin with a support bar on one of the walls.
Some exhibitions have seats, which can be requested in case they have been removed from the exhibition space. The mezzanine railing is 90cm high.
Aside from the main entrance, the building also features an emergency exit and signs.
The median temperature inside the building is 20ºC, with air humidity between 40% and 60%. Lighting varies according to the exhibition on show.
There are three WCs in Atelier-Museu, one of them adapted to wheelchair users. There is also a free wheelchair that can be requested to be used exclusively within the building.
According to by-law 74/2007, of 27 March, service dogs are allowed in the building at no extra cost (dogs must display the required identifying signs).
